What is E-waste EPR CPCB Authorisation?

  • EPR E Waste registration is permission granted by the CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) to electronic waste producers who are listed in Schedule 1 of the E-Waste (Management) Rules 2016 and 2022.

  • Year-wise EEE Placed in Market: Provide a breakdown of the EEE you placed in the market for each year, aligned with the average end-of-life guidelines set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
  • Estimated EEE Waste Generation: Provide an item-by-item estimate of the EEE waste you anticipate being generated in the coming year.
  • Estimated EEE Collection Target: Set a realistic and achievable target for collecting EEE waste in the upcoming year.
  • Details of your Extended Producer Responsibility plan, covering:
    • Take-back system (6.1)
    • Collection targets and milestones (6.2)
    • Processing and recycling strategies (6.3)
  • Copy of permission granted by the relevant ministry or department to sell your product.
  • Copies of agreements with your dealers for product sales and collection support.
  • Copies of agreements with collection centers for e-waste collection.
  • Copies of agreements with recyclers or dismantlers for e-waste processing.
  • Copy of agreement with a Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) for specific e-waste types (e.g., fluorescent lamps).
  • Copy of your Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) license or IEC certificate (if applicable).
  • Self-declarations confirming your product’s compliance with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directives 
  • Copy of agreement with a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) if you choose to utilize their services.

Manufacturers Producers Refurbishers Recyclers

The definition of "manufacturer" under the rules covers any entity, including companies registered under the Companies Act 2013, factories under the Factories Act 1948, and small and medium enterprises as defined in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act 2006, that has facilities for producing the electrical and electronic equipment listed in the schedule I.

Under these rules, a "Producer" is any individual or entity who: Makes and sells electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) under their own brand: This includes components, consumables, parts, and spares. Sells assembled EEE under their own brand: Even if they didn't manufacture it themselves. Imports and sells EEE: This includes components, consumables, parts, and spares. Imports used EEE: Regardless of its brand or condition.

Refurbisher" is anyone who fixes or assembles used electronics (listed in Schedule-I) to extend their lifespan and sell them for their original purpose.

A "Recycler" is anyone who processes and recovers valuable materials from discarded electronics and their parts. This includes precious metals, rare earth elements, and other useful resources.
